I graduated from the Faculty of Art, Blackpool and Fylde College of Further & Higher Education in 1984.
One of only three colleges in the UK offering this particular three year course of study.
With the Professional Qualifying Examination in Professional Photography of the British Institute of Professional Photography.
My first employment was at Aylesbury Studios , a general advertising studio where we photographed everything from cars and models to the humble but extremely useful paper stapler!
A technical note: We mainly shot everything on 4 x 5 inch sheet film.
I went off to London where I worked in mail order (Studios set up to shoot clothes for Grattan, Kays Catalogue and GUS) fashion and Editorial fashion principally for the National Magazine Company titles. These photo shoots involved travel all over Europe, the Caribbean and the USA.
I've been involved shooting hotels and resorts for holiday companies in Canaries, the Ionian Isles of Greece, Tunisia as well as Portugal and the Balearic Islands.
I have recently been shooting and selling photography for wall art.
I've won the Hulme-Upright prize of the Three Counties Open Photography Exhibition at Keele and an award
at the Staffordshire Open Art Exhibition held at The Guildhall Stafford.
